I seem to remember MORE dreams now, when I usually get up at 5.30. When I slept till 9.00 or even later, I used to not remember any dreams I might have had.
I consider it an interesting side effect of aging - now getting up at 8.30 DOES feel very late. And when I was a teen, I was able to sleep till midday on Sundays! I do not think I would be able to do that now ...
